Moin Ud Dowlah Gold Cup forgotten

The Moin Ud Dowlah Gold Cup was one of the most looked forward to tournaments in India and players from across the country took pride in participating in the was termed as the crowning glory of domestic cricket.  What is more! The tournament is no longer held and the original gold cup has gone missing. The Gold Cup in possession of HCA is a virtual replica of the gold coated one and not made of gold.

Where have the league matches gone?

The Hyderabad cricket league that once boasted of matches galore, is now reduced to a rarity. Most teams have not completed their schedule of matches for the past several years. If there are 10 matches, HCA conducts less than half. The late Dr M V Sridhar who played for Hyderabad was a product from the lower division league who directly was selected in the state team.
