Senior BJP leader Mir Firasath Ali Baqri has expressed gratitude to Union Minister for Coal & Mines G Kishan Reddy and the Telangana Government for approving the provision of an elephant for the historic Bibi-ka-Alam procession at Alawa-e-Bibi, Dabeerpura on July 6, 2025, the 10th day of Muharram.
The request, originally submitted by Baqri, was forwarded by the Union Minister as a marked top priority. Responding swiftly, the Environment, Forests, Science & Technology (EFS&T) Department of Telangana issued necessary instructions to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (P&V) and Chief Wildlife Warden (HoFF) to take immediate action under the Captive Elephant (Transfer or Transport) Rules, 2024.
Mir Firasath Ali Baqri thanked Ahmad Nadeem, Principal Secretary to Government Forest Department for their coordination in preserving the city’s centuries-old tradition while ensuring compliance with wildlife norms. He called upon procession organizers and participants to extend full cooperation to authorities and conduct the event peacefully and respectfully.
