MyNaa Swamy proposes Rs 600 cr mega museum network in AP

Historian and tourism expert MyNaa Swamy has proposed a Rs 600-crore network of six world-class museums across Andhra Pradesh to preserve the state's cultural, historical and spiritual heritage while boosting tourism and local economies.

Addressing the media in Puttaparti on Wednesday, he said the proposed museums would be established in Visakhapatnam, Pithapuram, Amaravati, Tirupati, Penukonda and Kurnool, with an estimated investment of ₹100 crore each. A preliminary report will be submitted to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.

The museums would feature digital technology, interactive exhibits and conservation-grade architecture. Visakhapatnam would focus on maritime heritage, Pithapuram on culture and spirituality, Amaravati on Buddhist heritage, Tirupati on temple traditions, Kurnool on prehistoric archaeology, and Penukonda on the Vijayanagara Empire, including 3D walkthroughs of Gagan Mahal.

Swamy proposed funding through Central and State government support along with CSR contributions, saying the project would preserve heritage, create jobs, attract global tourists and strengthen regional economies.
