Participates in various events in Mangalagiri

Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh participated in various development and inauguration programs in Mangalagiri on Thursday. He inaugurated the new showroom of Satyabhama Silks and Handlooms at Rajiv Centre in Mangalagiri town. On this occasion, Minister Lokesh was given a warm welcome by the organisers, local TDP leaders and activists.

Inaugurates model library

Minister Nara Lokesh inaugurated the Model Public Library built at a cost of Rs 1.72 crore in Mangalagiri town. In 1986, the foundation stone of the library was laid by former Chief Minister late  NT Rama Rao and former minister late M.S.S. Koteswara Rao. Today, the modernized library has been inaugurated. Minister Lokesh also inaugurated the statues of NT Rama Rao and M.S.S. Koteswara Rao. 

Guntur District Mineral Funds, AP Technology Services (APTS) and NOVO Insurance Breaking Service Pvt Ltd have contributed Rs 30 lakh under CSR funds for the modernization of the library.The library consists of various facilities like reading room for children play area, room for access to various dailies and magazines, book reading room, senior citizens reading area, public reading area, cafeteria, two teaching halls,  a reading area for those preparing for skill and competitive examinations, digital library and resource center, etc.

Offers prayer at Gangamma temple

Later on, Minister Lokesh offered prayers at the Gangamma temple at Atmakur village in Mangalagiri Rural mandal. Padmashali Welfare and Development Corporation Chairman Nandam Abaddaiah, TDP General Secretary for Guntur Parliament Pothineni Srinivasa Rao and other local TDP leaders and activists participated in the event.

Inaugurates Kondapaneni Township Park 

Minister Nara Lokesh on Thursday inaugurated the newly developed Kondapaneni Township Park in Mangalagiri bypass built at a cost of Rs 1.23 crore. The park is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Plaza, walking track, internal pathways, stage, yoga deck, senior citizens seating area, outdoor gym area, modern lighting, children's play area and lawn area have been provided. The Minister inspected the facilities in the park on the occasion.
