Netflix Hits Hyd ‘Hollywood Arrives’

The Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday said the launch of Netflix’s Eyeline Studios in Hyderabad reflects the city’s growing importance in the global entertainment and AVGC sector. Inaugurating the world class VFX and virtual production facility along with IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, the Chief Minister described the event as a milestone for the city’s creative ecosystem.

“The launch of Netflix’s Eyeline Studios marks the arrival of Hollywood in Hyderabad,” the Chief Minister said, adding that the development highlights India’s and Telangana’s rising role in shaping the future of global entertainment.The facility will serve as a hub for advanced visual effects and virtual production for Netflix films and web series produced for global audiences. The streaming giant chose Hyderabad citing the state government’s forward looking policy environment and the city’s rapidly expanding technology and creative talent pool.

Actor Rana Daggubati, Eyeline Studios CEO Jeff Shapiro, several Netflix executives, Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Sanjay Jaju, and Special Secretary to the Chief Minister B. Ajith Reddy were present at the launch.

Recalling his fascination for cinema since childhood, the Chief Minister spoke about the technological evolution of filmmaking and expressed hope that the new studio would encourage and support Telugu filmmakers in the years ahead. He also noted that Telugu cinema has received global recognition in recent years.

Revanth Reddy said the new facility would further strengthen Hyderabad’s vibrant Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics sector while creating advanced skilling initiatives and high quality employment opportunities for local creative and technical talent.

Inviting Netflix to expand further in the state, the Chief Minister outlined the government’s plans to develop a dedicated Entertainment Zone and AI City in Bharat Future City. “Hyderabad is a natural home for Netflix. We invite the company to establish its corporate office in Bharat Future City and we will extend all possible support,” he said.

He expressed confidence that the presence of Eyeline Studios would help bring more stories from Telangana to global audiences. “While Netflix connects global talent and content to viewers worldwide, Hyderabad connects opportunities and talent across the world,” he said.

The Chief Minister also highlighted Telangana’s growing focus on sports infrastructure and plans to establish a sports university, expressing hope for potential collaboration with global platforms like Netflix.

“The launch of Eyeline Studios here is a strong example of how India and Telangana are emerging as key players in the global entertainment industry,” he added. 

Hyd set to become Global AVGC Hub: Sridhar Babu

Minister for Information Technology and Industries D. Sridhar Babu said the State government is taking a structured and forward looking approach to transform Hyderabad into a global leader in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics sector by building world class infrastructure and nurturing a future ready talent ecosystem.

The Minister made these remarks after inaugurating Eyeline Studios, the production studio of global streaming platform Netflix, along with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at HITEC City on Thursday.

Sridhar Babu stated that the Telangana government is simultaneously strengthening physical infrastructure while also investing in large scale skilling, reskilling and upskilling initiatives to support the rapid growth of the AVGC sector. 

He noted that the launch of Eyeline Studios would further reinforce Hyderabad’s position as an important hub in the global digital content and entertainment ecosystem.

The Minister said Netflix’s presence in Hyderabad would open up new opportunities for local creators, technicians and digital professionals. It would also help integrate the city more deeply into the global production ecosystem, enabling creative talent from Telangana to participate in international projects.

“With world class production standards, advanced creative tools and innovation driven workflows becoming part of the local ecosystem, young professionals in Telangana will gain access to future ready skills and global opportunities,” he said.

Sridhar Babu also invited Netflix representatives to collaborate with the State government’s Young India Skills University initiative to build industry aligned talent pipelines. He further encouraged the company to explore establishing another studio in the proposed Bharat Future City, which is being envisioned as a next generation urban innovation hub that will drive technology, creativity and digital industries in the years ahead.
