Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar, made it clear that there will be no compromise when it comes to the safety of women and children. He emphasized that women’s safety and protection is a societal responsibility. On Monday, at the ICCC Auditorium in Banjara Hills, CP Sajjanar, conducted a review meeting on the functioning of the Women’s Safety Department.
He inspected the cases registered at the women’s police stations under this department. He spoke with police officers from SHE Teams, Bharosa, Anti-Human Trafficking, Juvenile, and other divisions to assess their work. Afterwards, he provided guidance on the proper approach to handling women’s safety issues. He suggested that women come to police stations with their grievances, and the police should treat them with a humane perspective. Victims should be reassured that the police stand with them and support them.
He stressed that cases should not just be registered and left unresolved, but investigated thoroughly. He warned that negligence in POCSO and rape cases would result in strict action against those responsible. He also recommended raising awareness on women’s safety and teaching children about good touch and bad touch and self-defense.
