The Chief Minister Revanth Reddy quashed speculation over land deals entered in Telangana Rising Global Summit, emphasized global bidding for projects, and celebrated the Congress party's sweeping victory in recent Gram Panchayat elections. He stressed Congress alone can safeguard democracy and predicted a repeat of these electoral results in 2029, with Congress returning to power with a two-thirds majority, pledging to make Telangana the number one state in the country.
At the heart of the Chief Minister's vision lies the Global Summit's Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), which he clarified are mere Expressions of Interest (EOIs)—not binding commitments. "No land has been allotted to any company yet," he said firmly, addressing public concerns over hasty allocations. Instead, the government will first craft Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for every initiative before launching global tenders to ensure fair play. "Every project will go through this transparent route; nomination basis? That's a one-way ticket to jail," the CM warned, signaling zero tolerance for favoritism.
A highlight is the proposed Vantara project by the Reliance Group, envisioning a sprawling Zoo Park-cum-Night Safari across 2,000-3,000 acres in the burgeoning Future City. Blending urban forestry with tourism, it promises eco-adventures on forest land via potential 99-year leases, not outright transfers. "Whether Vantara comes or not, we'll see—they've just shown interest," Revanth quipped, keeping options open while prioritizing environmental norms.
Future City emerges as Telangana's crown jewel, with plans for a world-class sports ecosystem rivaling global hubs. International-standard stadiums for cricket, football, hockey, badminton, and athletics are on the anvil, backed by investors from the Middle East and even Bollywood icon Salman Khan. Pledging up to ₹10,000 crore under a plug-and-play model, he envisions an airport-centric boom. Gaming stadiums and holistic sports arenas will further cement its status, all executed with forensic precision to avoid past pitfalls.
The recent Gram Panchayat elections delivered a thunderous verdict, with Congress storming to victory in 8,335 of 12,702 panchayats—a commanding 66% sweep. "This is the people's judgment on our two-year tenure," beamed Revanth Reddy, congratulating officials for flawlessly conducting polls free of "arbitrary hurdles or inflated egos." Congress clinched 7,527 seats outright, bolstered by 808 rebel wins, while the BRS-BJP alliance limped to 4,221 (BRS: 3,511; BJP: 710). Left parties scraped a mere 1%.
Dominance extended to assembly segments: Congress led in 87 of 94 constituencies, with BRS topping just six and BJP one. By-poll triumphs in Cantonment and Jubilee Hills sealed the narrative. Attributing the win to welfare warriors like free fine rice, 200 units of electricity, ₹500 LPG cylinders, Indiramma homes, paddy bonuses, interest-free SHG loans, SC sub-categorization, and the caste census, the Chief Minister hailed it as "freedom's seventh guarantee." "In a democracy untainted by vendettas, we've let the people speak—and they've roared for us," he said, vowing to amplify these voices in 2029 with a two-thirds majority.
The CM didn't shy from the shadows of legacy issues, announcing a sweeping forensic audit on contract, outsourcing, and pension irregularities. "We'll settle accounts and jail the guilty—pensions or not," he pledged, revealing prior DoPT letters seeking permission to probe seniors like Arvind Kumar in the Formula E car race case. "We're following procedures to the letter; no shortcuts." On MGNREGA, Revanth Reddy accused the Centre of a "conspiracy" to scrap it outright by renaming the scheme. "Congress alone can protect this lifeline for the rural poor," he fired back.
Eligible pensioners needn't worry: "Our promise stands—we'll deliver for every rightful claimant." This audit-driven purge extends to urban expansions, like reviewing GHMC's mega-corporation proposal post-delimitation of 300 wards is complete.
Turning the spotlight on rivals, Revanth mocked BRS infighting: "Harish Rao and KTR are battling to topple KCR—who needs us when they're self-destructing?" He extended an open challenge: "KCR, write a letter as LoP if you dare; let's debate Krishna and Godavari betrayals in the Assembly." Promising assembly sessions with evidence of BRS's "decade of drought" on water shares, the Chief Minister emphasised readiness for BC 42% reservation discussions too. "Democracy means anyone can be CM—but only Congress safeguards it," he quipped, predicting BRS's "arrogance" and BJP's "envy" won't derail Telangana's ascent.
In a nod to family dreams, he shared a light moment: "I want my grandson to be an athlete, not a pub-goer—that's why I took him to the Messi match as a guest.
