Novo Nordisk, has partnered with Apollo Clinics to launch a nationwide obesity management program across India. This initiative aims to improve awareness, clinical management, and long-term care for individuals living with overweight and obesity.
The partnership will establish a network of dedicated obesity clinics offering multidisciplinary care, early diagnosis, and personalized treatment plans. Apollo Clinics will provide infrastructure, clinical protocols, and digital support tools, while Novo Nordisk will deliver evidence-based training and education to healthcare professionals and staff.
The program also includes public awareness campaigns with educational content, body composition analysis, and a QR-enabled platform offering BMI and waist-to-height calculators for easy access to care pathways.
Dr. Maya Sharma of Novo Nordisk emphasized the need for better clinical recognition of obesity in India, highlighting the program's focus on transforming care at the primary level. Sriram Iyer of Apollo Clinics noted the joint commitment to addressing obesity through innovation and patient-centric solutions.
