OBC Mahasabha in Goa on Aug 7 to set future agenda

The National OBC Mahasabha will be held on August 7 at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Auditorium in Goa, where future action plans for OBC welfare will be announced, said BC Welfare Association national president Jajula Srinivas Goud.

He called upon OBC employees from across the country to attend and make the event a success. He was speaking at a poster launch event held on Sunday at the BC Employees Association state office in Hyderabad. The posters were released by Jajula Srinivas Goud along with national general secretary Sachin Rajolkar in the presence of state president M. Chandrashekhar Goud and general secretary D. Rama.

Srinivas Goud stated that the Goa meeting will focus on challenges faced by OBCs across India and that a decisive action plan will be drafted. He informed that over 10,000 delegates from 29 states and several OBC leaders from various political parties will attend the Mahasabha.

Key demands to be discussed include 50% political reservations based on population share, removal of the 50% cap on reservations, abolition of the creamy layer rule, and implementation of reservation in promotions for BC employees.

Sachin Rajolkar added that the Mahasabha is being held in Goa this year to mark the 10th edition of this national event, which is organized every August 7. Several BC leaders and representatives from various unions and organizations were present during the event.
