One dead, three injured in road accident in Godavarikhani

A road accident occurred in Godavarikhani in Peddapalli district, resulting in the death of one Singareni employee and serious injuries to three others. The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday when the group was returning home after attending a retirement farewell function of a colleague.  The deceased has been identified as Velpula Sridhar (40), a survey chain employee from Markandeya Colony. The other occupants of the car were Maloth Srikanth (driver), Tadakala Mahender and N. Lakshman, all working at GDK-1.

The car was reportedly moving at high speed while returning from Rajesh Theatre towards the Municipal Office main road, when it lost control at a turning point, hit the road divider and then crashed into a nearby tree. Upon receiving information from locals, police shifted the three injured persons to separate private hospitals in Karimnagar in a private ambulance. Among them, Lakshman’s condition is said to be critical and causing concern.
