Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, IPS, on Monday felicitated Muhammad Firoz for rescuing an 8-year-old girl from a kidnapping attempt. The ceremony was held at the old CP office in Basheer Bagh, where Firoz was honoured with a shawl, a citation, and a cash reward.
On April 1, an auto driver, Saleem, tried to abduct the girl near Abids after school. Firoz noticed her crying near Masjid and intervened, forcing the driver to flee. Using her ID, he contacted her father. Blue Coats constables Sai Krishna and Kedar Singh then ensured her safe return. Saleem was arrested on April 2, and the auto seized.
CP Sajjanar praised Firoz for his timely courage and called such civic responsibility a model for society. The constables were also specially commended for their prompt action.
