District Additional Collector (Revenue) V. Ramulu has directed officials and rice millers to strictly follow norms in the procurement of quality paddy from farmers and ensure smooth operations at all procurement centres in Mancherial district.
During his visit on Tuesday, the Additional Collector inspected Sri Rama Rice Mill and Sivarama Krishna Rice Mill at Mittapalli in Luxettipet mandal, along with Sri Ramachandra Rice Mill at Gullakota. He reviewed paddy handling and instructed millers to avoid delays in receiving stocks transported from procurement centres. He stressed that all mills must follow government guidelines and ensure quick unloading and storage.
Ramulu said the government is procuring paddy from farmers at Minimum Support Price as part of its welfare initiative and transporting it to designated rice mills. He later visited IKP-run procurement centres at Ponkal, Rendlaguda, Morriguda and Dandepalli mandal headquarters, where he interacted with farmers and officials. He advised farmers to bring only FAQ-standard paddy free from excess moisture, stones and impurities. Officials were instructed to provide basic facilities such as drinking water, shade, and other support at centres. Farmers were also encouraged to use available equipment like paddy cleaners and tarpaulins.
The Additional Collector inspected the Agricultural Marketing Committee godown at Jannaram and conducted a surprise check at Raghavendra Rice Mill, directing officials to expedite CMR delivery and complete procurement activities without delay.
