MP DK Aruna, MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy, and Palamuru University Vice-Chancellor laid foundation stones for major development works at the university on Tuesday. Under the Prime Minister’s USHA Scheme, the Central Government had sanctioned Rs 100 crore last year. Of this, Rs 75 crore is now being allocated for key infrastructure projects: Rs 35 crore for a new Engineering College building, Rs 15 crore for a Law College building, and Rs 25 crore for Girls’ and Boys’ Hostels.

Speaking at the ceremony, DK Aruna said, ‘Developing Palamuru University is our goal. Whether as a minister or MLA, we are committed to its progress. With Central funds, we have laid foundation stones for the Law and Engineering Colleges, and the hostel buildings.’

She added that officials had requested an additional women’s hostel and pledged to strive for its construction along with securing further Central funds for the university’s growth. ‘From my tenure as minister, I have always worked for Mahabubnagar’s development. Students must study well and make full use of these facilities,’ she noted.
