Paper trade leaders to converge for FPTA 65th meet

Metro India News | AMARAVATI : The Federation of Paper Traders’ Associations (FPTA), in collaboration with the Telangana Paper Merchants’ Association (TPMA), will host its 65th Annual General Meeting from October 3 to 5, 2026, at Novotel HICC, Hyderabad. The three-day event, returning to Hyderabad after 19 years, is expected to attract more than 1,000 paper traders from across India. Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla will inaugurate the AGM, with senior industry leaders participating as chief guest and guests of honor.

The conference will bring together traders, manufacturers and experts to discuss price volatility, imports, taxation, working-capital constraints and measures to increase paper consumption. Industry discussions will also focus on simplifying Nil GST on notebooks and exercise books, improving access to finance for MSME traders and promoting sustainable paper usage. India produces around 25 million tonnes of paper annually, while per-capita consumption remains about 16 kg, highlighting significant potential for market growth.
