Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will inaugurate the PJR Flyover from Outer Ring Road to Kondapur on Saturday which is expected ease congestion to benefit those travelling in IT corridor. This state-of-the-art multi level flyover is also expected to reduce the congestion at Gachibowli Junction .
The flyover was constructed under the Strategic Road Development Program (SRDP) at a cost of Rs 182.72 crores. It is 1.2 km long and has six lanes with a width of 24 meters. What makes it unique is that it is a third-level structure built on two existing flyovers.
Shilpa Layout Phase 1 flyover is built above the Gachibowli Junction flyover and now the Phase 2 flyover has been built on top of the Shilpa Layout. The PJR flyover is very suitable for vehicles going from ORR to Kondapur and Hafizpet routes. From Kondapur area, Shamshabad airport can be directly reached from without any traffic jams at Gachibowli. This is going to be the 23rd flyover built under SRDP. With this PJR flyover, 37 works have been completed out of the 42 works undertaken under the SRDP.
GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan said that a target has been set to complete the Falaknuma Railway Over Bridge( ROB) works by the end of July and Shastripuram ROB works by the end of August. The government is concentrating to create foundation for infrastructure related works in a big way to bring international recognition to Hyderabad city.
58 works are being taken up through H-CITI (Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure ) program at a cost of Rs 7032 crore. Of these, 28 flyovers, 13 underpasses, 4 ROBs, 3 railway underbridges and 10 road expansion works are proposed to be taken up. These works have been completed at the tender stage and are in the contractual stage.
