Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated, ‘The concept of One Country, One Election is essentially a strategy favouring One Person, One Party, and it aligns with the hidden agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.’
He expressed concern regarding the delimitation of Assembly and Lok Sabha Constituencies, highlighting that the Southern States, which have been successful in implementing family planning and exhibiting faster development relative to their Northern counterparts, seem to be facing repercussions for their progress.
Chief Minister Reddy made these remarks in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. He expressed hope that the Southern States would unite to uphold the guarantees enshrined in the Indian Constitution and protect their rights. "The Union government is not extending support to all States, particularly to those in the south and those governed by parties other than the BJP," he remarked.
"India operates as a federation of States. Narendra Modi cannot disregard the essential rights of these States. His intention appears to be to assert control over them and transform them into local bodies," Revanth Reddy asserted. He further emphasised that residents of the Southern States—Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Puducherry—must come together to oppose the Modi administration.
"If necessary, I will take the lead in this effort," he stated.
Revanth Reddy remarked that "Telangana Rising" signifies more than just a slogan; it embodies the aspirations of 4 crore people in Telangana. The Chief Minister expressed his ambition to position Telangana as the premier State, not only in India but globally.
"My inquiry is whether the central government should not provide support to Telangana in order to accomplish various milestones. If Telangana is on the path to becoming a trillion-dollar economy, would this not also contribute positively to India's overall growth," Revanth Reddy questioned.
