Ahead of the upcoming municipal elections, police conducted a flag march on Wednesday in Turkappally village under the limits of the Genome Valley Police Station. Genome Valley Station House Officer (SHO) Gopagani Guruvayya said the exercise was aimed at strengthening law and order and ensuring peaceful conduct of the polls.

Personnel from the Genome Valley Police Station, along with staff from the Jagadgirigutta police, took part in the flag march and foot patrolling across the village. The teams moved through key streets and public areas, keeping a close watch on suspicious movements and activities. The visible police presence, officials said, was intended to instill a sense of security and confidence among residents.

The SHO stated that such flag marches form part of preventive policing measures adopted during elections to deter any untoward incidents and maintain public order. He appealed to the public to cooperate with the police and help maintain a calm and peaceful atmosphere during the election period.
