Hyderabad : CCTV cameras play a vital role in preventing crimes and enabling the swift identification of offenders, said Banswada Rural Circle Inspector A. Tirupayya. He inaugurated seven newly installed CCTV cameras in Mukund Reddy Colony in Pitlam village, under the limits of Pitlam Police Station, along with Sub-Inspector P. Venkat Rao. The initiative was taken with the active cooperation of local residents.

Speaking on the occasion, the Circle Inspector said that even a single CCTV camera is equal to the vigilance of hundreds of police personnel, as it provides continuous 24-hour monitoring and significantly enhances public safety. He lauded the public for working hand in hand with the police in efforts to prevent crime and maintain peace in the district.

He urged people to adopt modern technology by installing CCTV cameras in their neighbourhoods and stressed that public participation is key to bringing the entire mandal under effective surveillance, not just Pitlam village. The CCTV footage will be monitored from both the Pitlam Police Station and the Kamareddy Command Control Centre, which will help in quickly tracing and arresting offenders.

The CI also advised citizens to stay alert, particularly urging women not to wear gold ornaments during early morning activities or while walking on roads. He appealed to the public to immediately inform the police if any suspicious persons or movements are noticed.
