The Banjara Hills Police recovered a total of 67 mobile phones belonging to citizens, which were either lost or stolen. ACP Venkat Reddy, Banjara Hills handed over the phones to their owners on Saturday. Various wings of Hyderabad Police in collaborative efforts recovered the phones using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.
19 mobile phones recovered in Banjara Hills PS, 17 mobile phones recovered in Masab Tank PS, 22 mobile phones recovered in Jubilee Hills PS and 9 mobile phones recovered in Film Nagar PS. These recoveries are part of the Hyderabad City Police ongoing initiative to trace and return lost or stolen mobile phones by leveraging the CEIR portal, IMEI tracking technology, and coordination with telecom service providers. ACP Venkat Reddy urged the public to report lost or stolen mobile phones by calling dial 100 or by lodging complaints online through MeeSeva centers.
