Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is upbeat on strengthening ties with the USA. Speaking at the America Independence Day celebrations here on Saturday, he said that there are close to 200 American companies operating in Hyderabad and a good number of students from the State of Telangana go to America to chase their dreams.

He further added that his government is working to boost the people-to-people ties and trade relations between Telangana and the US. The spirit of Telangana -- of not accepting defeat and making a positive difference -- is similar to the ethos of the United States.

The Congress government in the southern state is working towards the "Telangana Rising" vision to achieve a USD 1 trillion economy by 2035 and a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047, Reddy said, seeking the support of Americans in meeting the target.

The chief minister further said the US Consulate in Hyderabad, headed by Jennifer Larson, acts as a strong bridge between Telangana and America in strengthening trade relations.
