A Bangladeshi woman who were forced into prostitution by a Hyderabad-based gang were rescued by the Bandlaguda police. Arrested identified as Hajera Begum (41), resident of Bandlaguda, Shahnaaz Fathima (32), resident of Mehdipatnam and Mohammed Sameer (23), resident of Kanchanbagh. Rupa, native of Dhaka and Sarwar, resident of Hyderabad, are absconding and efforts are on to arrest the absconding accused.
A victim who is from Bangladesh, had approached the police seeking help and safety from a gang involved in international human trafficking. The woman told the police that a woman, Rupa conned her into visiting India for a tour.
Rupa brought the victim through illegal routes into India. After crossing over into the country, they reached Kolkata and then headed to Hyderabad and reached Bandlaguda. Rupa handed over the victim to Hajera Begum of Ismail Nagar, who is a prostitution organizer,’ said police.
Hajera Begum took the victim to the house of Shahnaaz Fatima, who is a dancer at bars and kept her there with the help of a broker, Mohammed Sameer of Kanchanbagh.
Hajera, Shahnaaz and Sameer were forcing the woman into prostitution after threatening her with arrest. After the victim approached the police, a raid was conducted at Mehdipatnam and three more women were rescued,’ said police.
