A key development has taken place in the phone tapping case that created a sensation in Telangana State. A retired IPS officer and former OSD of the Special Intelligence Branch (SIB) Prabhakar Rao, who is facing charges as the main accused in the case, is returning home.

Prabhakar Rao informed the investigation team that he would appear before it for questioning in the case on June 5.

It is reported that Prabhakar Rao has executed an undertaking to the Supreme Court stating that he would fully cooperate in the phone tapping case. It is understood that Prabhakar Rao left for India immediately after receiving the one-time entry passport.

Prabhakar Rao is returning to India from the US on the orders of the Supreme Court. It is known that the Supreme Court has already ordered Prabhakar Rao to come to India within three days of receiving the passport. It is also known that Prabhakar Rao has been hiding in the US since the last 14 months.

On the other hand, since Prabhakar Rao is a key accused in this case, the investigation team believes that if he is interrogated, the case will come to a conclusion. The investigation team is now preparing to interrogate Prabhakar Rao.

The Revanth Reddy government, which came to power, has identified that the phones of key leaders of the Opposition parties and disgruntled leaders of the BRS party, were tapped during the previous government headed by KCR.

The SIT has ordered an investigation into this. Retired IPS officer Prabhakar Rao, who had sensed this matter in advance, had left for the United States. The SIT officials have already arrested all those involved in this case and have conducted a comprehensive investigation.
