Prez to attend Central Tribal University’s first convocation

President Droupadi Murmu will visit Visakhapatnam on June 30 to participate in the first convocation ceremony of the Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh, marking a major milestone in the institution’s academic journey. The announcement was made by Vice-Chancellor Prof. T. Srinivasan.

The convocation will celebrate the achievements of nearly 400 students who completed various academic programmes between 2021 and 2026. During the ceremony, the President will confer degrees on the graduating students and present gold medals to 15 toppers in recognition of their outstanding academic performance.

Several distinguished guests are expected to attend the event, including Andhra Pradesh Governor Justice S. Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and State Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh.

The presence of the President and other top dignitaries is expected to make the convocation one of the most significant academic events in Andhra Pradesh this year. The occasion will also highlight the growing contribution of the Central Tribal University in expanding higher education opportunities and empowering students from tribal and rural communities.

Authorities have begun extensive preparations for the high-profile visit. Security agencies and district officials are coordinating arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme and the safety of visiting dignitaries.

Officials said the President’s participation will enhance the university’s national profile and reaffirm the Centre’s commitment to strengthening educational access for tribal students. The convocation is expected to inspire graduates as they embark on their professional and academic careers.
