Ahead of the municipal elections, the Warangal Police Commissionerate has imposed prohibitory orders to ensure peaceful polling and maintain law and order. Elections are scheduled to be held on Wednesday, the 11th of this month, in the municipalities of Jangaon, Ghanpur, Wardhannapet, Parkal and Narsampet.
As part of the security arrangements, restrictions have been enforced under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS). Under these orders, the assembly of five or more persons is prohibited within a 200-metre radius of polling stations. The restrictions will be in force from 6 am on Tuesday, the 10th, and will continue until 8 pm on Wednesday, the 11th.
Warangal Police Commissioner Sunpreet Singh, IPS, warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone violating the orders and appealed to the public to cooperate for smooth and fair elections.
