The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is inviting dog lovers to give a loving home to adorable Indie puppies through a special adoption drive on August 17. The event will be held from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Jalagam Vengal Rao Park, Road No. 1, Banjara Hills.
Promoting the slogan “Be a Hero. Adopt, Don’t Shop”, GHMC aims to encourage people to choose adoption over buying pets. The puppies available for adoption are healthy, vaccinated, dewormed, and known for being loyal, playful, and easy to care for.
According to GHMC, adoption is completely free, with only one requirement — love. The civic body assures that these Indie puppies can become wonderful companions not just for the adopters but also for their families.
GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan announced the event on his official X account, drawing attention from pet lovers across the city. The initiative seeks to promote animal welfare, reduce street dog populations, and spread awareness about the benefits of adopting native breeds. This adoption camp is part of GHMC’s ongoing efforts to create a more compassionate and pet-friendly Hyderabad.
