Quarters for MLAs and MLCs to be ready by December: Andhra Speaker

Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Ch Ayyannapatrudu said on Wednesday that the quarters for MLAs and MLCs in Amaravati will be ready by December this year. He inspected the under-construction quarters and expressed satisfaction over the progress of work. Instructions have been given to the officials to set up residential complexes keeping in mind the delimitation of constituencies. A total of 288 quarters are being constructed out of a total of 12 towers for legislators.

The quarters of 35 ministers and 36 judges will be available by March. The speaker suggested that the residential complexes of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Council Chairman and Deputy Chairman should have a separate identity along with the quarters of the ministers. He also directed the officials to ensure that all facilities such as solar, ground water recharge and waste water use should be ensured. The Chief Minister's official residence and Raj Bhavan will be located along the Krishna River.

Speaker Ayyannapatrudu interacted with the media in his chamber in the assembly. He informed that the “National Women Empowered Members' Conference “of Legislative Assemblies will be held at Tirupati on September 14 and 15 where around 500 delegates will be participating from all the states. He also said that the monsoon session of the assembly will be held for 10 days in the first or second week of August. A team of experts, who came to Amaravati last month, inspected the iconic towers and the foundations of the permanent high court. They are moving forward as per their instructions.
