Andhra Pradesh has successfully completed 89.64% of ration distribution within the first 15 days of June, marking a major milestone in the state's welfare delivery system. Minister for Civil Supplies Nadendla Manohar on Friday congratulated fair price shop dealers and officials for achieving what he called “a historic feat in ration reform.”

Speaking at a review meeting with dealer representatives at the Civil Supplies Bhavan in Kanuru, the minister stated that ration was supplied to 1.3 crore beneficiaries out of the 1.46 crore eligible cardholders across the state through 29,796 fair price shops.

Highlighting the government's commitment to inclusivity, Minister Manohar emphasized that ration supplies will be home-delivered to elderly citizens above 65 and differently-abled individuals between June 25 and 30 each month. So far, 13.14 lakh people have benefitted from this doorstep service, achieving 83% coverage.

The Minister called on dealers to show proactive commitment in reaching remote tribal and hilly regions. “Display the ration delivery calendar clearly. Be the bridge between the government and the people,” he urged. He also directed all shops to maintain cleanliness, install stock boards, and prominently display QR code posters for public feedback, as part of the state’s move towards paperless administration.

The minister added that ration distribution will continue every month from the 1st to the 15th, in two slots—8 a.m. to 12 noon, and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A revival of earlier, more streamlined procedures was also announced to ensure better convenience for consumers. Praising the rising number of families availing ration, Minister Manohar reiterated that the coalition government is committed to doorstep service delivery. He stressed transparency, accountability, and citizen comfort as the pillars of the ongoing public distribution reform.
