Reddy Backs Rahul Gandhi on US Trade Deal, BJP Hits Back

16-02-2026 12:00:00 AM

Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy on Sunday praised Rahul Gandhi as the only leader raising concerns over India’s “incompetent and compromised” US trade deal, asserting that betraying farmers is akin to betraying the nation. In a post on X, he emphasized that national sovereignty, security, and farmers’ interests transcend politics, saying, “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan aur Jai Samvidhan.”

Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy accused Rahul Gandhi of fearmongering, claiming his remarks mislead farmers and exporters. Highlighting India’s $4 lakh crore textile exports and nine FTAs opening a $45 lakh crore market, he said the US FTA will boost employment and Telangana’s Kakatiya Mega Textile Park. He also criticized Congress for past compromises on MSP and food security, contrasting it with the Modi government’s policies.

The BJP minister warned that Rahul Gandhi’s campaign against the trade deal is politically motivated and destined to fail.
