Sikhs in Hyderabad and Secunderabad solemnly observed the 350th martyrdom anniversary (Shaheedi Divas) of the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur, on Sunday (February 15, 2026), as part of a year-long commemoration of his supreme sacrifice for religious freedom and human rights.

A Vishes Kirtan Darbar (mass congregation) was held at Gurudwara Saheb Sitafalmandi under the aegis of its Prabandhak Committee. Devotees offered prayers before the Guru Granth Sahib and participated in Shabad Kirtans and Kathas by invited Ragi Jathas from across the country.

Speakers highlighted Guru Tegh Bahadur’s martyrdom in 1675 at Chandni Chowk, Delhi, where he was executed for defending the right to religious freedom, earning the title “Hind Di Chadar.” The sacrifices of Bhai Matidas, Bhai Satidas, and Bhai Dayala were also remembered.

The programme concluded with Guru-Ka-Langar (community meal) served to all.
