Cyberabad Police conducted a special drive to identify and remove hazardous kite strings, locally known as manja, from streets, trees, electricity poles, and buildings, aiming to prevent injuries and loss of life. The drive saw active participation from residents and walkers, who volunteered in large numbers to support the initiative.

The campaign covered areas under Gachibowli, Ameenpur, Patancheru, Kolluru, and IDA Bollaram police stations. Gachibowli police divided into three teams to inspect Kondapur and Majid Bandi, raising awareness among residents about the dangers of using manja.

In Ameenpur, 150 volunteers assisted in clearing kite strings at Ilapur Maidan and Tulasivanam Colony, with police informing the public about the legal consequences of making, selling, storing, or using hazardous kite strings. Similar awareness drives were conducted in Patancheru at Maitri Ground, Saki Cheruvu, and the government hospital area, while Kolluru teams worked along ORR Radial Road and Ozone Heights Ground. In IDA Bollaram, police removed glass-coated strings from roads to ensure public safety.

Citizens were urged to report any sightings of manja sales to Dial 100 or local police and to carefully remove and safely dispose of strings found in public spaces.
