The Telangana Chief Minister and Congress leader Revanth Reddy accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of a covert alliance in the upcoming MLC elections to defeat Congress.

Addressing campaign meetings in Nizamabad, Mancherial, and Karimnagar on Monday in support of Congress candidate Narender Reddy who is in the fray for Medak, Karimnagar, Nizamabad and Adilabad MLC Graduate segment, he questioned BRS’s decision not to field a candidate and alleged that their leadership is working behind the scenes to ensure BJP’s victory.

Revanth Reddy claimed that BRS had previously supported BJP in Lok Sabha elections to avoid arrests in the phone tapping case, leading to BJP securing eight MP seats while BRS lost deposits. He further alleged that BRS leaders, including KCR, KTR, Harish Rao, and Kavitha, are now striving for BJP’s success in MLC polls to evade action in the Formula-E and Sheep farming scams.

Calling upon graduate voters, the CM stated that they should decide whom to vote for based on the benefits they received from Congress or not. He highlighted key schemes such as the recruitment of over 55,000 unemployed youth, free bus travel for women, free electricity up to 200 units, subsidized gas cylinders at Rs 500, farm loan waivers, Rythu Bharosa assistance, and steps towards BC and SC reservations.

Highlighting Congress’s efforts in education and employment, Revanth Reddy spoke about the launch of Young India Skill University and Young India Sports University to boost job opportunities and sports development.  “If Congress has done all this, vote for us. If not, vote for another party,” he said.

BRS’s political relevance questioned

The Chief Minister ridiculed KCR’s reluctance to contest elections, stating that Telangana society has already sidelined him. “KCR did not contest the MLC elections, he does not attend Assembly sessions, and he has no future in Telangana politics,” Revanth remarked. He challenged BRS leaders to first contest elections before talking about political relevance.

Attack on Central Ministers from TG

Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay in his speeches. He alleged that Kishan Reddy was blocking central funds for projects like Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion and Musi River beautification etc to deny Congress credit for these initiatives.

He further accused Bandi Sanjay of shielding KCR in the phone tapping case by delaying the extradition of key accused Prabhakar Rao and Shravan Rao from the US. “Despite the ED gathering evidence in the Formula-E case and Sheep farming scam, no action has been taken against KTR and other BRS leaders, exposing the BJP-BRS nexus,” he charged.
