Hyderabad: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of South Central Railway (SCR) has intensified efforts under Operation Amanat, using digital tools to track and recover missing mobile phones. RPF Cyber Cell, which utilizes the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal—developed by the Department of Telecommunications—for IMEI-based tracking and blocking of lost or stolen devices.

However, recoveries are initiated only when the incident is reported via the Rail Madad platform, and no First Information Report (FIR) has been filed by the complainant elsewhere. In July 2025 alone, the RPF Cyber Cell processed 169 complaints from across six SCR divisions like Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, and Nanded.
