Telangana Minister for Panchayat Raj&Rural Development , Women & Child Welfare Seethakka said that Rs. 300 crore NREGA bills have been released during a review meeting on Thursday. She said that the salary arrears of multi-purpose workers have been released.
She said that every eligible pregnant woman, lactating woman and child should be provided with nutrition and that district welfare officers should be trained in that direction. The process of paying pending bills has started in the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department.
She mentioned that feedback from parents of children will be taken on Anganwadi services and that a phone-in with parents program will be organized once a month and warned that action will be taken against Anganwadi staff based on the opinions of parents.
She expressed her sadness that pregnant women coming to Anganwadi are facing difficulty in sitting down and suggested that benches should be set up in Anganwadi centers to remove their difficulties. She advised officials to consult subordinates and solve peoples’ problems.
