TTD grandly organized the Snapana Thirumanjanam program at Dashashwamedha Ghat in Prayagraj on Thursday during the Maha Kumbh Mela, the world's largest religious gathering.
A group of priests, led by the chief priest of Tirumala Srivari Temple, Sri Venugopalan Dikshitulu, performed the Snapa Thirumanjana ceremony for Srinivasa Swamy along with Sridevi and Bhudevi on the banks of the holy Ganga river. The Snapa Thirumanjana ceremony, performed with spices like milk, curd, honey, coconut water, turmeric and sandalwood, left the local devotees in a state of devotion.
On this occasion, the priests recited the five suktas, including the Sri Sukta, Bhusukta, Nila Sukta, Purush Sukta, Narayana Sukta, etc., by Vedic scholars. After the abhishekam, the ceremonial idols were decorated with Tulsi garlands. The abhishekam ceremony was performed according to the scriptures using the Sahasradharapatra.
Subsequently, Chakratalwar was taken into the Ganges River amidst auspicious instruments and the chanting of Vedic mantras. There, special pujas and aartis were offered to Chakratalwar and a Chakrasnana Mahotsava was celebrated.In this program Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishath Secretary Sriram Raghunath, Estate Officer Gunabhushan Reddy, Superintendent Guru Rajaswamy and other officials participated.
