The Telangana government, on Saturday, released Rs 375 crore as the second quarterly installment for the Musi Riverfront Development Project, aimed at revitalizing the riverfront in Hyderabad. This funding, sanctioned under G.O.Rt.No. 421 by the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Department, brings the total disbursed amount to Rs 750 crore out of the Rs 1,500 crore allocated in the Budget Estimates (BE) for 2025-26.
The release follows a request from the Managing Director of the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL), highlighting the start of the second quarter from July 1, 2025, and the need for funds to advance the project's implementation. A Budget Release Order (BRO No. 1192) was issued by the Finance Department on August 19, 2025, enabling the administrative sanction.
The funds will be transferred to MRDCL's Personal Deposit (PD) Account. The Assistant Secretary to Government (Drawing and Disbursing Officer), MAUD Department, will draw the amount, with the Deputy Director, District Treasury Office (DTO), Hyderabad (Urban), responsible for adjustment. The Managing Director of MRDCL has been directed to submit detailed expenditure particulars and Utilization Certificates to the Accountant General, Telangana, and the Government.
