Run4Telugu draws 3,000 across US

SiliconAndhra ManaBadi organised ‘Run4Telugu 2026’ across the United States to mark Telugu Language Day and the birth anniversary of Gidugu Ramamurthy Pantulu, pioneer of spoken Telugu.

Led by Vallabhapurapu Balaji and Allam Sridevi, the event drew over 3,000 Telugu enthusiasts across nearly 25 locations in 13 states, including California, Texas, New Jersey and Virginia.

Organised by ManaBadi language volunteers, the run promoted Telugu language and culture along with the message, “Health is the Greatest Wealth.” Participants ranging from children to senior citizens took part enthusiastically.

Run4Telugu Director Balaji highlighted ManaBadi’s Telugu education programmes and urged Telugu families to help preserve the language for future generations.

ManaBadi President and Chancellor Chamarthi Raju said more than 1.1 lakh students had completed Telugu education through the organisation. For 2026–27, classes will begin in September at around 300 centres across 10 countries, with 12,500 students already enrolled.

He said ManaBadi is the only Telugu language education organisation in North America with WASC accreditation and affiliation with Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University.

Competitions were held in two categories, with winners receiving medals and all participants getting certificates. Breakfast was also arranged at the venues. The simultaneous participation across multiple US locations highlighted the event’s scale and successfully combined Telugu pride with health awareness. The programme concluded with ManaBadi’s message: “Let us learn Telugu, speak Telugu and pass Telugu on to future generations.”
