Safeguard constitutional values: Justice J. Chelameswar

Justice Jasti Chelameswar, Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, in his address to students, faculty, and parents, emphasized safeguarding constitutional values and the rule of law. Urging young learners to treat law as a noble calling rather than a mere career, he stressed the importance of integrity, empathy, and social responsibility.

“Securing power is not just about enjoying it; a person who is truly sensitive to public needs should be sensitive to the poverty and suffering of the people,” he remarked, encouraging students to make legal discourse accessible to all. He was speaking at Bhaskar Law College (BLC) during the orientation program for the incoming B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. batch.

Principal Dr. Kama Raju reaffirmed BLC’s commitment to nurturing responsible legal professionals, detailing plans for moot court competitions, legal aid clinics, and interdisciplinary seminars. Secretary J. V. Krishna Rao and Director Prof. Ch. Sanjay also addressed the gathering. The session briefed freshers on academic guidelines, mentorship programs, and career counseling, concluding with a vote of thanks.
