In a major operation against interstate narcotics trafficking, Saifabad Police arrested two women and seized 21.251 kilograms of ganja near Lakdikapul Railway Station in Hyderabad.
Acting on credible information, a special police team conducted surveillance near the railway station parking area on May 29. At around 4:25 pm, officers intercepted two women carrying three luggage bags near a private travels parking zone. A search led to the recovery of 19 packets of ganja concealed inside the bags.
The accused were identified as Tippigiri Laxmi alias Bugamma (43), a native of Narayanpet district currently residing in Mumbai, and Sandipkaur Makkhan Singh (60) of Mumbai. During questioning, they reportedly confessed to procuring the contraband from a supplier in Visakhapatnam and transporting it to Mumbai for distribution.
Police also seized three luggage bags and two mobile phones. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Efforts are underway to trace other suspects and dismantle the wider drug trafficking network.
