Cyberabad SHE Teams nab 29 offenders

Twenty-nine persons were caught red-handed by Cyberabad SHE Teams during 104 decoy operations carried out across the commissionerate as part of intensified efforts to curb harassment and indecent behaviour in public places. Police booked 37 petty cases and counselled several others. SHE Teams also received 20 complaints from women through various channels and initiated appropriate action.

In a parallel operation, the Cyberabad Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) rescued four victims and apprehended one accused in a case registered under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA). Family Counselling Centres and CDEW Centres also helped reunite 39 families affected by marital disputes.

As part of preventive policing, AHTU and SHE Teams conducted awareness programmes across Cyberabad, reaching 1,844 participants. The sessions focused on human and child trafficking, eve teasing, social media harassment, child marriages, child rights, child labour, stalking, cyberbullying, cyber frauds and emergency helplines.

Meanwhile, Cyberabad Police, the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) and Thomson Reuters International Services Pvt. Ltd. organised a “Bring Your Child to Work” programme at Madhapur on May 29. More than 50 children and their parents attended interactive sessions on personal safety, cyber awareness and responsible social media use, aimed at promoting child safety and strengthening community engagement.
