Telangana, a leading hub for life sciences and biotechnology in India, is poised to accelerate innovation under new leadership. Sarvesh Singh assumed charge as Director and CEO of Telangana Biosciences on Monday and was congratulated by IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu during a meeting at the Secretariat.
The Minister highlighted Singh’s 22 years of extensive experience in the pharma and life sciences sectors, urging him to leverage this expertise to strengthen Telangana’s biotech ecosystem. “The State has immense potential, and your leadership can help create a robust environment for innovation and growth,” he said.
Sridhar Babu noted Telangana’s remarkable achievements in the pharmaceutical sector. He recalled that one-third of the world’s vaccines are exported from the State, with Hyderabad emerging as the global vaccine capital. He also pointed out that Telangana leads the country in pharmaceutical exports, underscoring its pivotal role in India’s life sciences industry.
Emphasising the government’s commitment to expanding the sector, the Minister mentioned ongoing efforts to enhance Genome Valley and improve infrastructure. These initiatives are designed to attract new industries and investment, further solidifying Telangana’s position as a national and global leader in life sciences and biotechnology.
Singh’s appointment is expected to drive innovation, foster industry growth, and reinforce Telangana’s status as a premier destination for biotech research and development.
