As part of the Ministry of Railways' ‘One Station One Product’ (OSOP) initiative, South Central Railways has provided an OSOP stall and trolley stand to transgender entrepreneurs at Charlapalli Terminal Station. The stall features handmade products like snacks, jute bags, and soaps, created by community members.
Jasmine, a transgender entrepreneur, highlighted the initiative's significance, saying it addresses job scarcity and societal exclusion faced by the community. Entrepreneurs like Tripura and Sahasra craft jute bags, while Kiran Raj produces soaps, showcasing their creativity and skills.
Jasmine described the stall as a step toward visibility and equality, thanking authorities for their support. Launched in the 2022-23 Union Budget, OSOP promotes local products and offers income opportunities for marginalized groups. Currently, 223 OSOP stalls operate across 205 South Central Railway stations.
General Manager Arun Kumar Jain emphasized the zone's commitment to inclusivity, expressing pride in providing a platform for the transgender community while benefiting travelers and local artisans alike.
