Secunderabad Zone Police arrested 12 suppliers/sellers of banned Chinese manja across three divisions—Chikkadpally, Gandhi Nagar, and Osmania University—and seized a total of 162 bobbins worth approximately Rs 1,88,000. Mobile phones were also confiscated.

In Chikkadpally Division (Kachiguda PS), five persons were arrested after police recovered 106 bobbins from Mothi Market and Dhoolpet. Investigations revealed that the manja had been sourced from Lal Kuan, Old Delhi. One accused, Kapil, is absconding. One of the arrested, Lalith Singh, has prior NDPS cases.

In Gandhi Nagar Division (Domalguda PS), four student sellers were apprehended near NTR Stadium with 8 bobbins, while one accused remains absconding.

In Osmania University Division (Amberpet PS), one person was arrested and 48 bobbins were seized; two others are absconding.

The police reiterated that Chinese manja is completely banned in Telangana under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, as per G.O. Ms. No. 6 dated 17-01-2018, due to risks posed to humans and animals. All arrests were made under the supervision of senior Secunderabad Zone officers.
