Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy distributed free sewing machines to 200 eligible Muslim minority women at Ambedkar Bhavan in Hanamkonda on Wednesday. The program was organized by the District Minority Welfare Department. Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said the Congress government was committed to ensuring welfare benefits reached every eligible family, irrespective of community.
He said measures were being taken to encourage self-employment and economic empowerment among minority women. He announced that 55 eligible single Muslim women in the constituency would soon receive cheques of Rs 50,000 each under the Indira Mahila Minority Yojana. Eligible members of the Dudekula and Fakir communities would also get Rs 1 lakh each as full subsidy. He urged beneficiaries to use assistance effectively and become economically self-reliant.
