The 24th anniversary of Sannyas of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swamishri Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati was celebrated with reverence and spiritual fervor at Shri Vidya Math in Kashi. The event drew devotees, disciples, and spiritual leaders from across the country.

In his address, Shankaracharya Swamishri elaborated on the essence of true renunciation. He explained that Sannyas is not merely about wearing saffron robes; it is the complete detachment from worldly pleasures and material pursuits. True renunciation arises when one recognizes the impermanence of life, dedicates oneself to self-realization, and works for the welfare of society. Swamishri emphasized that in today’s world, a monk’s role extends beyond personal salvation to guiding others on the path of dharma and preserving eternal spiritual values. He encouraged devotees to renounce fleeting pleasures and pursue lasting truths.

The ceremony included ritualistic worship of the Shankaracharya’s sandals by devotees and mothers of the All-India Spiritual Upliftment Mandal. Vedic chants and peace recitations were conducted by Acharya Amit Pandey and Raghuvir Pandit, enhancing the spiritual ambiance. Cultural presentations included a devotional song on the cow by Manjari Pandey, the release of an introductory section of the Kesh Granth by Yatindra Nath Chaturvedi, and Sanskrit verses composed in honor of Shankaracharya by Acharya Shailesh.

Dandi Sannyasis from across Kashi attended the event, receiving blessings, saffron robes, rudraksha garlands, sweets, and donations. Devotees were also offered prasad, marking the conclusion of the spiritual gathering.

Prominent Acharyas, including Shatrughn Tripathi, Parameshwar Datt Shukla, Sadashiv Dwivedi, Dhananjay Pandey, Priyavrat Ji, and Raghvendra Pandey, expressed their admiration for Shankaracharya’s unwavering commitment to truth and dharma. Devotees from Chhattisgarh, Barabanki, and other regions attended, making the celebration a pan-Indian spiritual event. The program was coordinated by Paramatmanand Ji and conducted by Krishna Kumar Ji, with media oversight by Sanjay Pandey.

The Math community and devotees concluded the occasion by pledging to follow the Shankaracharya’s path of righteousness and wishing him a long, prosperous, and spiritually elevated life.
