Sharadiya Navratri festival to be celebrated at Shri Vidya Math

The Sharadiya Navratri festival will be celebrated at Shri Vidya Math, located at Shankaracharya Ghat in Kashi, from October 11 to 20, under the guidance of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Shri Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Ji Maharaj, the revered head of Jyotish Peeth. The celebrations will be held from Ashwin Shukla Pratipada to Ashwin Shukla Navami, according to the Hindu lunar calendar.

As part of the festival, Shankaracharya Ji Maharaj will perform special daily worship of Bhagwati Rajarajeshwari Tripura Sundari.A Navchandi Path will also be conducted by Vedic scholars with prayers for the protection of cows, their recognition as Rashtra Mata (Mother of the Nation), and the preservation of their lives. In addition, a Shri Vidya Sadhana camp will be organized daily under the guidance of Shankaracharya Ji Maharaj, who will also deliver spiritual discourses every evening.

Announcing the program, Sanjay Pandey, media in-charge of Shankaracharya Ji Maharaj, said the daily schedule would begin with Shri Vidya studies from 7:30 am to 8 am. From 8 am to 9:30 am, the Prasthanatrayi scriptures would be recited in the presence of Shankaracharya Maharaj. The Navchandi Path, conducted by eminent Vedic scholars from Kashi, would also begin at 8 am, with prayers for the protection and recognition of cows as Rashtra Mata. At 9:45 am, Shankaracharya Ji Maharaj would perform the worship of Lord Vishnu. From noon to 4 pm, he would conduct special worship of Bhagwati Tripura Sundari, offering nine sacred substances in the daily rituals. Spiritual discourses based on the divine leelas of Bhagwati would begin at 5 pm, followed by the grand Maha Aarti at 7 pm.
