Not just my phone, but even my husband’s and close associates’ phones were tapped. Y.V. Subbareddy himself confirmed this to me and even played one of the tapped audios. Would he admit that now? I doubt it. Y.S. Sharmila APCC chief

In a sensational revelation, APCC chief Y.S. Sharmila has accused former chief ministers Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and K. Chandrashekar Rao of orchestrating a “joint political conspiracy” to tap her phone and suppress her politically and financially. Speaking to the media in Visakhapatnam, Sharmila declared under oath on the Bible that phone tapping “undoubtedly occurred” and described it as a blatant assault on her privacy and democratic values.

“Not just my phone, but even my husband’s and close associates’ phones were tapped. Y.V. Subbareddy himself confirmed this to me and even played one of the tapped audios. Would he admit that now? I doubt it,” she said.

Calling the act a calculated scheme, Sharmila said, “This was a political plot to silence me—a woman, a sister, and a leader. KCR and Jagan worked together to erase my future. They didn’t just monitor me—they intimidated my supporters and blocked them politically.”

She demanded that Telangana CM Revanth Reddy and Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu launch an immediate and thorough investigation. “Phone tapping is not just illegal—it is immoral and a betrayal of democracy. If those in power stoop to spying on political rivals, where is democracy headed?” she questioned angrily.

Sharmila alleged the tapping occurred during the previous YSRCP and BRS regimes, aimed at undermining her political strategies. “I wasn’t silent then because I accepted it—but because the situation was more dangerous than people know. Compared to what they were doing, phone tapping was just a piece of it,” she said, expressing both outrage and caution. “The governments may have changed, but justice is still due. I am ready to testify anywhere, anytime,” Sharmila affirmed. She warned that if state institutions fail to act, it would set a dangerous precedent against personal liberty and political dissent in the Telugu states.
