Television actor Shoaib Ibrahim has given a major update on his wife and actress Dipika Kakar’s health after her stage 2 liver cancer diagnosis. The actress underwent a critical 14-hour-long surgery on June 3, and according to Shoaib, she is now out of the ICU and recovering. In his latest YouTube vlog shared on Friday, Shoaib opened up about the tense moments during her surgery and expressed his gratitude that Dipika’s condition is improving with each passing day.

Dipika Kakar out of ICU

Shoaib shared that Dipika was shifted out of the ICU just a day before Eid Al Adha or Bakri Eid. In the video, he is heard saying, “Tomorrow is Eid Al Adha and today on such an auspicious day Dipika is out of the ICU. I am grateful that she is out of the ICU and she is with us. She was in the ICU for three days and her condition kept improving after the surgery. Around evening, the doctors decided to shift her to the room. She will be here for a few days as the surgery was major, she was in the OT for 14 hours.”

Shoaib recalls 14-hour surgery 

Shoaib recalled how Dipika was taken into surgery at 8:30 am and only came out of the operation theatre at 11:30 pm. “We all were tensed as doctors had mentioned it would be a long surgery... At 6-7 pm, we all panicked as there was no update from the OT as we had never witnessed such a serious surgery. Thankfully, the doctor had assured me that if they don’t come out for updates, then the surgery is going fine and she will be all well,” the actor said.
