Singareni CMD inspects mines and STPP Projects

Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director N. Balaram, IRS, conducted a comprehensive visit to Ramagundam-1, Srirampur areas, and the Singareni Thermal Power Plant (STPP) on Sunday.

At Ramagundam-1, he inspected the GDK-5 Opencast Mine, reviewed coal production activities, and examined greenery development on overburden dumps. He also planted saplings as part of environmental conservation efforts and inaugurated the newly built Base Workshop for mine operations. Director (E&M) M. Thirumala Rao, Area General Manager Lalit Kumar, and officials were present.

In Srirampur, Balaram reviewed operations at the IK Opencast Mine, emphasizing production and transportation targets. He visited the Mini Park and the “Balaram Jaladhi” pond developed under the “Neeti Binduvu – Jala Sindhuvu” program and appreciated efforts to enhance groundwater recharge.

Later, he inspected the Singareni Thermal Power Plant to review preparations for the foundation cermony of the upcoming 800 MW Ultra Supercritical Thermal Power Project. He also reviewed the Methanol Pilot Plant and the ponds developed within the STPP campus. STPP Executive Director Ch. Chiranjeevi, General Managers Narasimharao and Madan Mohan, along with other officials, accompanied him during the tour.
