The sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone Team, Hyderabad along with Hussaini Alam and IS Sadan Police have arrested six persons including two receivers and detected five cases in the limits of Hyderabad and Rachakonda Police Commissionerates.
Arrested persons have been identified as Md Abbas Ali (60), resident of Shaheen Nagar, Hyderabad, Mohd Rizwan (24), working as labour and resident of Shaheen Nagar, Balapur. Mohd Sadiq (22), working as labour and resident of Bhvani Nagar, Hyderabad and Mohd Dastagiri (48), working as auto driver, resident of Kanchanbagh, Hyderabad. Receivers have been identified as Mohd Sattar (28), resident of Balapur, Hyderabad and Shaik Azher (30), resident of Rein Bazar, Hyderabad.
Police have seized eight cell phones of various brands, one knife, and auto rickshaw all worth Rs 3,00,000 from the arrested persons.
All the accused are born and brought up from Hyderabad. The prime accused Mohd Abbas Ali is having criminal background and involved as many as 37 cases in property, bodily and other offences. He started to commit offences in 1989. Further, he is doing his livelihood by profession as a fruit vendor.
In this business, his earnings are not sufficient to lead his family members and his lavish life. In these circumstances, he hatched a plan to commit snatchings, theft of cell phones from the public in huge gatherings at business places. In this juncture, he formed a gang with the other accused persons.
As per their plan, they used to move in large crowded places and divert their attention to snatching cell phones from their pant, shirt packets without their knowledge, if anybody objects to them, they will show the knife. In this juncture, they committed offences in the limits of Hyderabad and Rachakonda Police Commissionerates.
