As part of the Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika initiative, the GHMC Commissioner has directed Group–I trainee Municipal Commissioners to give special focus to sanitation activities across the city for the next six days.

The instructions were issued during a meeting held at the GHMC Head Office on Monday evening, where the Commissioner interacted with 18 Group–I trainee Municipal Commissioners assigned to oversee sanitation operations in various parts of the city. The trainees have been asked to report to the field by 5.30 a.m. every day and closely supervise sanitation work in their allotted areas.

Officials were instructed to gather comprehensive data regarding the number of sanitation workers and supervisors deployed in their respective areas and verify how many personnel are actually attending duty on the ground. They were also directed to record details of sanitation vehicles operating in the field, including SAT vehicles and Ramky vehicles, along with other vehicles used for sanitation-related activities.

The Commissioner asked the trainee officers to submit a one-page report every day summarising their observations and findings during field visits. To ensure regular monitoring, the civic body will conduct Webex review meetings every evening for the next six days with the trainee Municipal Commissioners.

The Commissioner noted that such field assignments would help the trainee officers gain practical exposure to civic administration and strengthen their ability to handle responsibilities effectively in the future. Additional Commissioners Manda Makarand and Ravikiran also attended the meeting.
